Today is poly CF event at bible house. Elaine,wk, johnson and natalie went as well. It was a testimony from a 3 time martial arts world champion. He told us his entire life journey from a buddisht to a christian when he was in prison. The life he had in prison was easily visualise if u had watched prison break as what he had encountered is very similar to what i have seen hence i can understand the pain and the suffering he has gone through. is talk was very meaningful and interesting. Some gals even cried. He wrote a book titled the taming of the tiger. The book contained his entire life journey from china to US... Who can we really seek help when we are in need?? Who is the one who is always looking after us no matter how bad we are? Who is the one that forgives us even when we made grave mistakes? Who will give us chance besides him? Who will bring glory to our life? Who sacrificed his life just for our sins???

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of god is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord"
Romans 6:23

"Everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. A slave does not remain in the household forever, but a son does remain forever. Therefore if the Son sets you free, you really will be free."
John 8:35

Today's arena topic was does singapore education system breeds elitism... it's a battle between raffles institution and united world college... RI is for and UWC is against.... firstly what is an elite? It is a group of persons exercising the major share of authority or influence within a larger group. Elitism is the consciousness of or pride in belonging to a select or favored group. RI being one of the top schools in singapore had made biased statments in their substantial as the topic was mainly speaking about them. So does singapore education system breeds elitism?? In my opinion, the answer is yes. Since primary school, GEP (gifted education programme) is being established for students with higher than average IQ to get together and study. Their education is more broader and more interactive compared to the normal stream. Once someone enters GEP, you are considered an elite. But doesn't mean that students not in GEP cannot be nuture to be an elite.

Next is PSLE, where students were stream to different secondary schools. Neighbourhood school vs Top schools... Top schools have more funding as compared to neighbourhood schools hence students in top school can learn more things and more field trips and oversea trips.

Followed on is O levels, or in fact those students who were in IP(integrated programma) where they skipped O levels and advances to JCs... But this system mainly focuses on academics where people will be considered "elite" if their studies were remarkable. But how about students who excels in sports, music or art??? or is there a paveway to nuture students towards an elite in these fields? for sports, there is singapore sports school, for art, there is NAFA(nanyang academy of fine arts) or the upcoming singapore arts school. But all this is just the minority group in the education system. Hopefully, we can see a broader field in them and also not forgetting NUS high school.

Getting in ITE may not necessary mean that you are not an elite. You can become an elite if u stands out and excel compared to your peers. Hence people in ITE may develop their elitism later but the final outcome will still be the same where people will still contribute their part for Singapore...

Watch a debate is very interesting... haha..

Took some photos at my office... the singapore flyer coming in march 2008... i'm patiently awaiting... =)

The straight thingy at the right side is another thrilling ride... it's super duper high... bout 10 storeys high and it swings 360 degrees at a very fast speed and also the seats that we are seated also swinged 360 degrees... jos was practically yelling even before the ride begins...

This is one of the ride which is named challenger... quite thrilling... the swinging part is more than 180 degrees...

Went to work today together with gilbert and nicholas... we were at tanah merah country club as urshers for SIA PPS club golf competition. Pay wasn't that great but it's a good experience. So basically, my job is just to direct those golfers to the registration and golf bag landing point. Most of the cars that were entering the club drove either mercedes, BMW or lexus. We get to see some really cool cars with the lastest technolgy and some with chuffeurs. After all the golfers had registered, we did all the miscellaneous stuffs to prepare for the lucky draws and stuffs. It was very interesting because this is the first time i am actually being involved in an event management company and we worked as a team. Gotta a chance to seat in a buggy ride and riding around the golf courses is damn shiok. Well the top prize for hole-in-one is a $250000 jaguar car (without COE) although no one had won the prize... haha... During afternoon, our task was to print the photos that were taken by the photographers so that the golfers can collect it during dinner time but the damn pathetic instant printer is so slow and lousy that even at 9pm, we were still printing. Had a chat with one of the photographer and i found out that he was from hawaii and he was actually a golf coach in united state with class A... how surprising when he was showing the strokes and methods to another photographer who was playing golf as well. I gonna learn how to play golf in future although this sport is so-called "rich man sport" but it is really interesting... Since TMCC is near airport, we got to see different planes taking off or landing... At the end of the whole event, we were given a treat by TMCC. Bottom line: working in an event mangement company may be tiring but it's fun and interesting...

Friday- Watched hannibal rising together with andrew, andy, natalie, wee keat and josephine... the show is rather nice... 3.5/5 stars...

Saturday- went for church and they had outreach training... most probably i'm joining teen games for adventure race.. After which i rushed off to meet andrew and wee keat to sim lim square as andrew's mum is driving us there... i aiming to buy a PSP to entertain myself during the journey to and fro school... Had dinner at siam kitchen... so bloated cos it's eat-all-you can ala carte buffet...

Sunday- Went back to work at carlton hotel (a bloody place where u should go and work although i had been working there for 2 years ). Moreover i was banned by the security department for a not-to-be-mentioned incident.... The reason why i went back was because they are paying $12.50 an hour as it was the last day of CNY.... it's normal banquet style but this time round because it was under wah lok restaurant... we just have to portion a certain dishes and yu sheng....partnered an auntie who likes to
!@#$% but since it's $62.50 for 5 hours, i don't really care much...
